Denis Farquhar Mann was born in Ballinluig, Perthshire, Scotland in March 1935. He studied glass design under Helen Monro Turner at the Edinburgh College of Art and where he developed an affinity for copper wheel engraving. After college, he served in the RAF and then taught art until taking up engraving at Caithness in 1970. Today, he works as an independent engraver and artist. He has his own website here LINK

Brown Trout, shown below, was issued in a limited edition of 50 boxed pairs of goblets. Edition number 5 is show below. The leaflet contained the following text as well as biographical details.
