Notes: "I studied badge weights a few years ago and came to the conclusion that all of the badge weights I had observed contained badges from a period before World War Two; most of them were from World War One. The one that got me started on looking closely for the dates was the Royal Engineer badge, which contained a V in the center for George V, who did not reign during World War Two. I actually acquired original cap badges for all my weights, and matching them up told me that they were all from World War One. I was puzzled until I visited Salvador Ysart (Paul's son) in 2004. When asked about the badge weights, he remembered his father bringing home a large box of cap badges and military medals one night. It was this stockpile that produced the badge weights. - Colin Mahoney 2008"
