Badge details: The badge is an Army Service Corps badge, of the type used 1901 -1919. The word 'Royal' was added as a prefix in 1918. The Army Service Corps ran the transport system for the British Army, and served during the First World War in many areas including Flanders, now within Belgium.
Size: 83 mm (3¼") diameter, 51 mm (2") high.
Metal (glass tint): - slightly blue-grey.
UV longwave - very weak,
UV shortwave - weak.
Specific Gravity - not measured.
Notes: Overall quality quite good; ground frit size varies from coarse to dust! Base poorly finished - pitted - then hollow ground and polished. Facet on one edge for standing the weight up.
