1924 Monart Ware - W2

John Moncrieff Ltd. label used for the "Monart" brand of Art Glass. Scotland added.

This was the first type of printed label used on Monart Glassware c.1924 with the word 'Scotland' added it was never registered as a trademark although the word MONART was registered as a trademark in 1929. The 'Ware' labels were replaced by 'Glass' labels about 1929.

This label appeared in the book Ysart Glass in 1990 as Plate 2.

The designation W2 was first used on Ysartglass.com for ease of reference. This was not the label Ian Turner referred to in Ysart Glass, that one is shown here as W3.
