Tumbler / Beaker, stained amber, transfer acid-etched decoration on one side, wheel engraved personalisation on the other. Engraving comprises two scenes, The Forth Bridge and steam boat (Ferry?) and a large building (?). A ribbon bears the inscription "Edinburgh International Exhibition" and the date 1890. The end of the ribbon contains "Vincent - St. Louis" and on the back is marked made in Lorraine The reverse side was presumably personalised at the exhibition with a freehand wheel engraved name "F R" 90mm (3½") high, flat base. Probable maker: Cristalleries de St Louis, Lorraine, France. Sold for £231 in 2007 Image ©2007 L Clark
