A set of four paperweights, each with the national emblem: Scotland - Alba: The thistle has been an inspiration to the Scots through the centuries. Wales - Cymru: The red dragon was officially sanctioned as the royal badge of Wales in 1953. Ireland - Eireann: The shamrock has been emblematic of Ireland since St. Patrick's legendary use of the little trefoil in the 5th century to explain the doctrine of Trinity. England - Roses, originally emblems of the rival houses of Lancaster and York, have now come to symbolise a united England.
