Scotland's Glass |
This website aims to provide information and a showcase of Scottish Glass, past and present. It is a privately funded non-commercial site, you can help by making a donation to the Glass Study Association. Tha sinn an dòchas gun còrd e ribh agus gun till sibh a-rithist. n.b. JANUARY 2015. SITE IS BEING UPGRADED MAY CAUSE SOME PROBLEMS TEMPORARILY |
Incorporating anyone who has been involved with Scottish glass, whether maker, designer, packer, etc., will help to document the influences on Scotland from outside and the influences of Scottish glass on the wider world. Glass is a dynamic industry; glassmakers have proved to be great travellers, and this has resulted in the rapid spread of ideas and a remakable fusing of cultural aesthetics.
It is possible for others to co-operate in building this site by providing articles. To preserve its integrity, the site administration will only be open to verified applicants. We need researchers, editors, historians and PHP open-source programmers.
Hopefully, others will take this concept to different regions of glassmaking so we can eventually link to provide a broader picture of the web of glass.
