Initially I studied engraving under Helen Monro Turner at the Edinburgh College of Art graduating in 1957.

At the invitation of the Managing Director, Angus Sillars, of Strathearn Glass I established an engraving studio on the premises in Crieff in 1973.The studio ran successfully specialising in commemorative and commissioned pieces until the summer of 1980 when with my family I emigrated to Australia. The studio continued to function for a period after my departure under the leadership on Ms Sheona Wilson.
