During the ECA conference, Alastair MacIntosh gave a demonstration of making a paperweight using Venetian canework by the vetro a reticello method to which a semi-overlay was  applied. This weight is technically difficult and usually takes about 40 minutes to complete.

The demonstration was held in the Hot Glass Studio at Edinburgh College of Art at 14:00 on Saturday the 2 October 2010. Alastair was assisted by ECA glass technician Derek Walls.
